Summer Sports Camp 2018
This year, we are offering a week of afterschool activities during the last week of school in addition to three week-long sports camps for children aged 9-15 years from AAS and the wider community. Participants will have the opportunity to be exposed to a variety of sports. New friends will be made and all who attend will grow and develop in the areas of self-confidence, social achievement, teamwork, leadership and new athletic skills!
Children who branch out and participate in the camps will discover more about themselves under the guidance of instructors who are former AAS graduates and phenomenal role models! We aim to make this their best summer adventure yet!
The ProgramThe Summer Sports camp is offered over four weeks:
- WEEK 1: Monday, June 18 – Thursday, June 21 (3:30-5:15pm)
- WEEK 2: Monday, June 25 – Friday, June 29 (9:30-2:30pm)
- WEEK 3: Monday, July 2 – Friday, July 6 (9:30-2:30pm)
- WEEK 4: Monday, July 9 – Friday, July 13 (9:30-2:30pm)

When & where will it be held?
The program is held on Anglo American School of Sofia campus from 3:30 - 5:30 PM during week one, and from 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM during weeks two to four.
How much does it cost?
The price for week one is 30 euros, and for weeks two to four it is 200 Euros a week. For weeks two to four, the price includes transportation to and from AAS, a hot lunch, snacks (i.e fruits), onsite medical personnel, instructors, and insurance. For planning purposes, we need to know if you require AAS bus service for weeks 2-4 by Friday, June 15. Please note that there will be no additions to the transport schedule after this date.
If you are interested in your child being involved in the sports camps it is advisable to reserve your place now. The program will run at a minimum of 7 participants per week.Payment Information: After registering please make your payment to hold your child's place, highlighting Summer Sports Camp, using one of the following methods by June 10th:
- visit the cashier at AAS

NOTE: Payments are not refundable after June 10th or if the child misses days during the week.

I attended AAS throughout my whole life and graduated back in 2014. I am currently finishing up the 3rd year of my Geography degree at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. I am half Canadian, half Bulgarian, and my parents live in Sofia. I spend my summers in Bulgaria and I am so excited to be able to share my passion of sports and adventure by creating an awesome summer experience for a great group of kids!

What to Expect
Week 1: After School Sports & Activities
As the school year winds down, this first week of afterschool activities will give participants a taste of what is to come in the following 3 weeks of sports camps. It will consist of a wide variety of fun activities, games and sports focused on building basic fundamental skills and having lots of fun!
Week 2: Sports & Activities Camp
- Dodgeball (All variations)
- Capture the Flag
- Water Games
- Relay Races
- And many more!
Come with appropriate athletic gear (socks, runners, shorts, t-shirt, spare items of clothing as we will be getting sweaty a lot) and bring a water bottle and sunscreen as we will be outside! One day may include games with water so a spare change of clothes on that day will be required. We will let you know what day that is!
Week 3: Intensive Basketball & Volleyball Skills Camp
Week three will consist of games and activities aimed at building the core skills required for the games of basketball and volleyball. If you enjoy either of these games and would like to get better at them while having an awesome time, this camp is for you! We will also be incorporating light weight and cardio training as a way to begin strengthening the muscle groups required for both sports! All levels of experience are welcome. Come prepared with athletic gear for both indoor and outdoor activities as well as sunscreen and a water bottle!
Week 4: Intensive Soccer & Flag Football Camp
Week four will consist of games and activities aimed at building the core skills required for the games of soccer and flag football. If you enjoy either of these games and would like to get better at them while having an awesome time, this camp is for you! We will also be incorporating light weight and cardio training as a way to begin strengthening the muscle groups required for both sports! All levels of experience are welcome. Come prepared with athletic gear for both indoor and outdoor activities as well as sunscreen and a water bottle!
