Our Community

by Eric Burnett, MS/HS Principal

Over the last two weeks, several activities culminated across our Wolves world. Over back to back weekends, we were fortunate to host three CEESA volleyball tournaments that brought together schools from around the region, and between those sporting celebrations, we then also showcased TEDx, an Arts Exhibition, and an MS Dance.

Across these events, we were able to see who is our Wolves community.

And who are we?

We are the players who toss their bodies across the courts while they bump, set and spike.

We are the friends who come up to school on the weekend to applaud their buds on stage.

We are our Activities Office who runs from event to event making sure everyone has what they need.

We are the ES students who come up on the weekend to watch “the big” kids, and then run around the campus in between matches envisioning how one day they’ll be the court/stage stars.

We are the SALT team welcoming our participants and setting the environments for those on stage to excel.

We are the parents of the players who come to see their children feel the risks and rewards of performance.

We are the parents who don’t have any performers this time around, but want to be part of the crowd to appreciate our students’ passions and creativity.

We are the MS dancers who grab a mic and bring the party to the dance floor.

We are the Student Councils who take the time to bring their brainstorming ideas to fruition.

We are the faculty sponsors who work behind the scenes so the students can shine.

We are the faculty members who take a break from their off-campus lives to see their students shine beyond their classrooms.

We are the tech teams who ensure our tools are ready to enhance.

We are the ES students who bring the cards, posters and smiles to cheer on visiting teams.

We are the MSers who rush home Tuesday afternoon and find the perfect ensemble for the evening shindig.

We are the coaches who drill the skills, focus the emotions and coordinate the playing time.

We are the artists who take their ideas from the possible to the real and then share these pieces with the rest of us.

We are the maintenance teams who turn our spaces from stages to dance halls to art galleries to workshops to testing centers.

We are the grounds crews who shape our campus so it stuns under the nearby snow-capped mountains.

So who are we?

We are the Wolves!
