Kristina Mecelicaite

Director of Student Support Services

Kristina Mecelicaite earned her Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and Special Education in her native country of Lithuania before moving to the United States to complete a Master’s degree in Special Education and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in Educational Leadership. Kristina built her career in Massachusetts, serving for many years as a special education teacher before moving into leadership as a Director of Student Support Services. She and her husband, Brian, whom she met in the States, launched their international education career in 2018 when they moved to Brazil—where she also pursued a Master's degree in Neuroscience driven by a personal passion for the field. They have since lived and worked in Brazil and Uzbekistan, and Kristina is now in her second year at AAS-Sofia.

Kristina and Brian have a son who is currently in the 11th grade. Outside of her professional life, she values quality time with her family as they continue to explore new cultures and build connections within the international school community.
