Leading the Prom Organization Committee


The Prom committee begins around February and works until June when the prom happens. Meetings of the various subcommittees are held every couple of weeks and a significant amount of time is put into planning and creating a layout of the prom. 

Being the leader of the Prom comittee was an experience in which I learned what it means to lead and what it means to work in a team. Throughout this experience I led a team of students in the organisation of our high school prom - we had to take care of decorations, food and drinks, ticket sales, and keep up communication with our school body. During this experience there was a stress for time as we had to order all the decorations months in advance and hold meetings with food catering companies to ensure we had enough food for all the people coming to prom. I learned how to keep calm under time pressure and how to keep a team on task while making sure the work environment was good. Overall the experience itself was very successful, we had everything done on time and hosted an amazing prom.
