Fundraising for the Red Cross

The Red Cross Christmas fundraiser and training was my CAS project. I was one of the leaders. We volunteered to help raise money for the Red Cross club during the school’s Christmas market by managing a table with items and encouraging donations from the wider community. Later, I took part in the official Red Cross Youth training, which was 7 hours, on Prevention of Aggression, where I learned strategies for identifying signs of rising tension and managing emotional responses. I then helped translate and present the information and knowledge in English to a group of students during Friday Feature sessions.

Through this experience I developed both communication and leadership skills. Translating and sharing the aggression prevention technique required me to reflect on how to explain psychological concepts clearly and supportively. I also became more aware about mental health education and the role young people can play in small actions, like helping raise funds or sharing tools for conflict resolution and how it can contribute to long-term positive changes.
