I have been a SALT member since grade 10 and a SALT leader since grade 11.SALT stands for Student Activity Leadership Team. We help with organising CEESA events that we host at AAS and other school events such as the school musical.

Being a SALT leader involves leading a smaller team, where there is usually one or two SALT leaders per event. I was the leader for CEESA Band & Choir this year, and it was an experience that was both fun but also left me feeling that my time there was valued. In previous years, I have helped with various other events, such as CEESA Cross Country, Basketball and other bigger CEESA events, but I have also been part of the trimesterly awards ceremonies multiple times.

Throughout all of these events, I have met so many people and made friendships that I really value, all while still helping the school community. SALT is one of the most rewarding CAS experiences you can do at AAS and I sincerely recommend it to anyone who wants to try it.
