Chair

Evan Fox has been Chairman of the AAS Board of Directors since 2025.  He joined the U.S. Embassy’s Political and Economic Affairs Section in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2024.  He previously served at the U.S. Missions in Thailand, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, and Vietnam.  Prior to joining the State Department, Evan worked as an environmental policy consultant in the United States and overseas.  He holds master’s and undergraduate degrees from Stanford University and was born and raised in San Diego, California.  Evan’s spouse Nikki Fox is the Public Affairs Officer at Embassy Sofia.  They have two children attending AAS, in seventh and fourth grade. Evan enjoys nature and sports, especially running, hiking, and skiing. He also appreciates travel and live music.
