Des Malpass MBE is a law enforcement professional based at the British Embassy Sofia. Des has worked in law enforcement for over 37 years beginning his career in London with the Metropolitan Police, and has since served with a number of UK Government agencies. Over the last 13 years, Des has served abroad as a liaison officer in The Netherlands, Serbia, Morocco and Bulgaria. Des enjoys walking, hiking, skiing and outdoor pursuits and sports. He has a love of travel and experiencing new countries, cultures and culinary delights. Des was born in Motherwell, Scotland and has been married to his wife Joanne for 32 years.  They share two daughters, Georgina (25yrs) and Francesca (20yrs) and have an 8 year old English cocker spaniel called Pippin.
