Carla Trajkovic, born in Hawaii, USA, has been a diplomat for 20 years.  She has served at U.S. Embassies in Bulgaria, Romania, Kosovo, Thailand, Afghanistan, and more.  Carla has an M.A. in International Relations and a B.A. in International Studies and Political Science from Texas A&M University.  Carla’s husband, Slavko, is originally from the Balkans and works at the U.S. Embassy in Sofia.  Together they have four children, including three at AAS.  Their oldest is a 5th grader, their second is a 3rd grader, and their third child is a Kindergartner.  They also have a pre-schooler at another school.  Carla and her family greatly enjoy traveling and learning about new cultures, foods, and languages.  They greatly enjoy winter sports in Bulgaria and summer beach trips to Greece.
