CEESA - OpportunitY for All!

CEESA provides a competitive interscholastic athletic and activities program intended to enrich and enhance the educational experience of our students.

They sponsor a wide variety of activities for Middle School and High School students of all interests - and also provides staff support and career development.

At AAS, we believe this is a way to further follow our mission to engage, support and prepare our students for today and tomorrow. Our school community values teamwork, school spirit, and the development of individual skills and self-esteem through training and competition. Emphasis is placed not on winning and losing, but on meeting the challenges of competition to the best of our ability.

This student program includes cultural arts and music festivals such as choir and band, tournaments and competitions such as Knowledge Bowl and Robotics and sports of all kinds including soccer, basketball, tennis and swimming. Our school is heavily involved in the athletic and educational activity events organized within CEESA. Our teams have the opportunity to both host and travel, collaborate and compete with schools in countries such as:

  • Finland
  • Serbia
  • Macedonia
  • Kiev - Ukraine
  • Latvia

For activities such as Robotics, Knowledge Bowl and Speech and Debate there are opportunities to travel even further a field to the likes of:

  • Prague, Czech Republic
  • Moscow, Russia
  • Warsaw, Poland

CEESA is one of several regional associations of US State Department sponsored American Overseas Schools.

I am someone who has participated every year in multiple CEESA activities and every time it's a truly an amazing and unique experience. Through the CEESA activities I got to know so many people at our school from different grades, friendships that I will always have. CEESA has brought me memories that I will remember forever.
Julie, Grade 12

I like that we are offered after school activities not only in the form of sports but also in other fields of interest such as maths and knowledge bowl.
