The AAS is privileged to have two full time, experienced nurses on the premises ensuring the well-being of both students and staff.
The nurses’ deal with general health issues, communicable diseases and minor injuries at school. In the case of a more serious injury, they would accompany a student to the nearest emergency room and wait with them until the parents arrive. They provide medical coverage at all official sports tournaments including at weekends. They undergo regular training that keeps them up to date with the latest general medical techniques.
They also advise parents on immunisation requirements for attending school, organise seasonal vaccination programs when appropriate and act as a liaison between the city health authorities getting updates on seasonal illness outbreaks such as the flu so they can advise the community accordingly.
The school nurses are able to administer medication (including over the counter drugs) when
authorized by a parent or guardian.
We are privileged to have two full time, experienced nurses on the premises ensuring the well-being of both students and staff. Ms. Diana Docheva (Didi) and Mr. Valentin Ivanov (Val) are based in a dedicated health office.
