Our Director of Learning and Curriculum Fanny Passeport has created a summary of the main takeaways for parents based on a recent post by John Hattie who describes the most important factors to support learning during this distance learning time.

According to him, what matters most is a supportive climate with parents/guardians: they listen and support, they provide feedback, they value mistakes as opportunities to learn, they pause and ask questions, they don’t do the work for the child because they value the process, they don’t require and put too much emphasis compliance such as the ‘learning police’, no, they are understanding, patient and they inspire.

Basically, parents get involved, and they also understand that high expectations come with high support and that the support comes in different ways depending on what they child needs.
