AAS wins
Sustainability Building Award

In June the Anglo-American School building was awarded the prestigious “Most sustainable building award” in the first ever Contest for sustainable architecture in Bulgaria, organized by the Bulgarian Chamber of Architects.

The jury, comprising of distinguished members of the Chamber of Architects, the Union of Architects, the Energy Efficiency centre, LEED and Breeam certification experts had to choose between 8 architectural projects, based on a list of sustainability criteria such as optimization of energy consumption, building location and architecture, materials used, ventilation and heating systems.

The AAS building was awarded not only because of covering the abovementioned criteria, but also because of its unique role of an educational resource, showcasing the “green building” philosophy.

Our school building will be presented at an European architecture forum in the autumn in Brussels.
