Nicolene van der Vorst (2002)

The first day I came to AAS. My name is Nicolene and I came from South Africa my English speech was good but I was in an Afrikaans school at that time I was nerves my spelling was not so good and I was in another country where I had to work in English. I was in Mr. Richard's class (Gr 4) and I use to call him teacher for the first week or so but then I learned to call him Mr. Richard. Every body made me feel welcome. All the teachers were polite and took the necessary time to explain everything to me that I did not understand.
P.E. periods was fun I can remember I could not say Mr. T.J's name right so I called him T.J I did not enjoy the running, but I liked to learn something new.
The Art class was my Favorite class I love drawing and I enjoyed it to work with clay. I still have my file of work we did.
The music class was nice in grade 4 we played the recorder that was easy I still have my file with the notes and how to play the instrument.
In grade 5 I met my friend Anne we had the best times on the play ground we did projects together and we went to each others houses. She was the only true friend I had.
Speaking about trips to Vitosha Mountain, I think about the ski week. I also enjoyed the rock climbing there that was really nice.
From this day on I am still in an English class to keep the most precious memories of the AAS.
