Bulgarian Cultural Studies

Bulgarian Cultural Studies are taught to all the grades from Kindergarten to Gr.8. The BCS teacher meets the whole elementary class once a week for a 40 minutes period and the Grade 6 to 8 classes-every week for a 55 minutes period.

Wherever possible the program is closely integrated with the Social Studies curriculum and other subject areas. It includes different areas of students' interest depending on their grade level such as history, geography, folk stories, art, music, dance, cooking, traditions, customs, language and drama.

Field trips, performances and other various activities in school are part of the Bulgarian Cultural Studies program.

The students also develop a limited competency in oral and written competencies in Bulgarian.
