PreschoolThe aim of the preschool program at AAS is to provide a safe and stimulating environment where the child will feel happy and secure. We strive to promote the emotional, social, physical, creative and intellectual development of each child.The early years of a child's life are particularly important. This is a time of rapid development and growth and a period where experiences encountered will have a great influence on long-term development. In preschool, we provide opportunities for the child to play and to explore the world. Interests and imagination are stimulated. Positive attitudes to self and to others are nurtured and confidence and self-esteem will be developed. Each child will be given opportunities to express ideas and feelings in a number of ways. While the aim of the preschool is to offer the child a wide-variety of learning activities in the school setting, we cannot forget the importance and value of the learning situations experienced at home and in the community. Parents are encouraged to visit and to volunteer as we work together to develop each child's learning. |
